Percutaneous laser therapy

Vasculaze laser therapy

Vasculaze is used for coagulation and closure of mild vascular lesions. Vascular lesions suitable for the Vasculaze procedure include venulectasia, telangiectasia, and hemangiomas, for example on the thighs and calves. During the procedure, a specially designed instrument head sends light impulses causing the blood vessels to disappear.

Lumecca laser therapy

Lumecca is a hybrid combination of the technologies of three different devices: KTP diode laser, dye laser, and IPL laser. The device is used for treatment of vascular lesions and pigmentation lesions. With the removal of lesions in the photorejuvenation process, the quality of the skin may improve: its firmness, tension, and structural changes such as fine wrinkles. The treatment is performed on any area of the body where vascular or pigmented lesions appear, i.e., on the face, neck, cleavage, legs, or arms.

How is the procedure performed?

During the procedure, a specially designed instrument head sends light impulses causing the blood vessels or pigmentation lesions to disappear. The procedure is quick. The maximum time of one session is up to 30 minutes. The procedure is comfortable and painless. The patient may only feel slight burning or pinching. The improvement in the treatment area is gradual. Several procedures are necessary to achieve the desirable effect – the required number of the procedures is individual for each patient. Usually 3 sessions are conducted 4–8 weeks apart.

What about recovery?

After the procedure, the patient returns home to their usual activities. For a month after the procedure, you should not sunbathe, use tanning beds and you should use creams with a UV filter (SPF 50). Directly after the procedure erythema occurs in the treated area. In case of pigmentation lesions, an intensification of pigmentation (change of vessel color from red to blue) occurs between days 3–7. The pigmentation lesions initially darken (3 to 5 days) and then peel off. The skin heals after about 4 to 6 weeks after the procedure.

Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is a method of vein closure with the use of a chemical sclerosant, which is a substance that once administered into the vessel causes swelling of the vascular wall and decrease in the flow, resulting in vessel fibrosis. The procedure is almost painless and anesthesia is usually not needed at all.

Endovenous laser treatment (EVLT)

Laser removal of varicose veins is a minimally invasive method of treating superficial vein insufficiency (i.e., varicose veins). The procedure involves closing ineffective venous trunks with thermal energy generated by a laser. The optical fiber of the laser device is inserted into the vein through a skin puncture. The procedure is conducted under local anesthesia and the patient can return home immediately after the procedure.
